Description
The new Grand Prix PRO is based on its predecessor, the Tournament Match Grand Prix which, would you believe, is 8 years old.
On this new slimmed down PRO version the butt has gone from 26mm down to 24mm, making the whole rod lighter by around 3oz. This has made it easier to hold and clamp your hands around the reel, which as you know is critical when holding onto a powerful rod to reduce thumb slip.
The most important thing about this new rod is that it has been designed and engineered to be very powerful and responsive, but without being completely rigid. Its still very much a rod to catch fish with.
This rod works in a unique way by generating power throughout the entire length of the rod. The power is transferred from the butt section to the mid section and then into the tip in a linear manner.
It is not a perfect J curve and its not a completely C curve rod for good reason. Its something altogether different.
It has a progressive curve which locks up instantly when loaded but still retains a fast and responsive tip. This responsive tip allows you to stay in direct contact with your lead and fish when you go to reel in. This is critical when fishing heavy ground so that you are in control the moment you turn the handle and don’t have to wait for the tip to go over to set the hook. It’s fishing and casting capabilities and potential are limitless; whether on the beach or on the tournament field, it’s the rod for big leads and big distances. Think big fish over rough and broken ground, where the number one tactic is about getting your gear back and not just about how far you can cast Ask anyone who has cast it, it’s THE most powerful rod we have ever made.Built for multiplier but can be used for f/s.
