Description

Serving the specialist angler with one rod range, across the mix of techniques, venues and species, was a definite challenge for our rod designers. After extensive development and field testing we have designed six rods in the Theory stable that will cover the majority of situations likely to be faced. Beginning with the power float rods, there are two in the shape of a 14’ and 15’ edition. They have been designed to cope with a variety of fishing situations where extra power is required. They are perfect for targeting big chub and barbel on rivers, trotting large sticks or bolos or even when tack-ling tench on weedy gravel pits with slider or lift methods. Both models offer a line rating range of 3-8lb. To cover a variety feeder fishing techniques we have developed 12’ and 13’ quiver tip rods – both featuring our EXT space saving feature. This allows both rods to be packed down at a shorter length, thanks to their telescopic butt sections making them easier to carry/store. Both models are also supplied with a mix of well-considered quiver tips. To assist bite detection when fishing direct we have included a selection of fast taper fibreglass quivers as light as 0.75oz on the 12’ and 1oz on the 13’ as well as a couple of carbon tips perfect for fishing in faster flow or when looking to fish for dropbacks. In terms of power the 12’ is rated to handle up to 8lb line and weights of 50g, whilst the 13’ up to 10lb lines and 80g loads. They are perfect for a whole host of species and situations from light link ledgering for perch, roach or chub down to fishing a traditional feeder approach for bream or tench on a stillwater. For those looking to target big tench and bream on large gravel pits or big barbel on a river, we have also developed two 12’ conventional ‘avon’ top specialist rods 12’ which are available in 1.75lb and 2lb options. These models can both handle mainlines up to 15lb, if required and have an amaz-ing tip recovery and playing action. All rods are furnished with Stainless Steel Fuji Alconite guides, EVA/Cork handle with Armlock and the reel seat is large enough to accommodate many popular ‘mini pit’ style reels.

  • HMC High Modulus Carbon Plus
  • Stainless Steel Fuji Alconite guides
  • Tele EXT feature on feeder rods
  • Glass and carbon quivers on feeder rods
  • EVA/Cork handle with Armlock
